A New Page and a New Year

Happy New Year to everyone!

Sorry for the absence, but the last few months have been really rough creatively, but with the birth of 2016, I feel a whole new wave of vigor and energy to kick off some new projects!

First: Movie reviews are now going to happen twice a month for the rest of the year. With enough luck, I hope to upgrade to actual VIDEO reviews once I get the equipment and learning Adobe-whatever. We're starting off the new year with the Dead Snow movies for January! If you don't know what Dead Snow is, it's just Nazi zombies. Typical schlock. Nothing quite like it.

Second: Video game reviews! I'll be taking a look at video games old, new, and obscure every now and again. This'll be tricky as I'm tackling a new medium, but video games and movies are essentially the same thing, just one requires more concentration, Mountain Dew, and soiled underwear. These'll be nowhere NEAR what professional folks can do, but hey, we all gotta branch out somehow, eh? That leads to our third change...

Third: Comedy gameplay! Ever want to see someone act like a jackass while playing video games? If thousands can enjoy Achievement Hunter and Game Grumps, who's to say I don't have a shot? I'll be testing out some new equipment and posting videos on YouTube of making bad jokes while playing games. I have three contenders for what'll come out in the next few months:

- HuniePop: The puzzle/dating-sim of conquering a gaggle of women with sexy puzzle skills with the aid of a nymphomaniac fairy.

- The Bioshock Series: The shooters may tell serious stories of political, sociological, and thrilling drama, but every serious moment can use the levity of an asshole who thinks he's funny make fun of the story and say dirty jokes.

Fourth: A big mistake in my time was skipping out on the biggest video games in history. My first Ninendo game that I was actually invested in? Pokemon Pearl. And so, that leads to my third project: the Final Fantasy Retro-Rampage. Having never played any of the classics like Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Metroid, Castlevania, even freaking Mario,I can't help but feel as though I've missed out on the cornerstones of gaming. And to remedy this, I'll be going back and playing every console-based Final Fantasy game that has come out, leading up to the Final Fantasy VII Remake whenever Square decides to stop selling their characters out for desperation (Today, it's Cloud in Smash and Lightning in purse commercials; tomorrow, it'll be Tidus selling beachwear). I'll see what can be done about playing the games on their original systems, but I'm not quite at the level where I can match a 30 year old piece of hardware with a modern capture device, but what the hell, we can try. Otherwise, it's modern downloading from the PS Store.

And with that, I once again wish you all a very happy new year, and look forward to the year ahead with new opportunities and a positive mindset. Expect the first Dead Snow review sometime next week. Till then, auf wiedersehen.
